"As someone who’s pretty socially awkward, I was nervous about learning portrait photography and directing people. Marvin created such a relaxed environment and taught me how to communicate naturally with subjects. It felt less like a class and more like real creative mentorship."

Andy Ferguson
Aspiring Creative & Photographer

“I originally booked a session to improve my content for my business, but I ended up learning so much more about visual storytelling, confidence, branding, and creative direction. Marvin has a rare ability to teach people how to see differently.”

Andy Ferguson
Small Business Owner & Content Creator

“I’ve watched countless YouTube videos over the years, but one session with Marvin gave me more clarity than months of trying to figure things out alone. He has a way of making photography feel approachable, artistic, and human instead of intimidating.”

Andy Ferguson
Portrait Photography Student

“Marvin completely changed the way I think about photography. Instead of overwhelming me with technical jargon, he helped me understand light, composition, and how to actually observe people and emotion. I left feeling more confident creatively and honestly more confident in myself.”

Why I Teach This Way

My creative journey started long before photography. As a teenager, I studied traditional portrait art, learning how to observe light, emotion, gesture, and human expression through drawing and painting. That artistic foundation still shapes the way I approach photography and mentorship today.

Over the last 25+ years, I’ve worked across photography, music, web design, video production and editing, branding, photo retouching, and content creation. I built my first websites at 14, worked in camera stores for over 15 years, helped dozens of small businesses grow visually, and built my own professional headshot studio from the ground up.

Along the way, I’ve learned that creativity is rarely about mastering a single tool. It’s about learning how to observe, communicate, adapt, and create with intention. That’s the philosophy behind these mentorship sessions.

The shortcut to your best work.

You can spend years watching tutorials, or you can spend an afternoon with someone who has seen it all. From the chaos of the New York fashion world to the precision of a professional studio, I’m opening up my playbook to help you master yours. No gatekeeping. Just growth.
