Why Every Artist Needs a Muse: A Personal Story

Every artist needs a muse. Not just a subject for a photo, but someone who becomes a part of the creative journey, turning the ordinary into something a little magical. For me, that was Lucinda. We met during a peculiar in-between phase of my life. Charleston, SC, was slower than the relentless pulse of NYC, where I had grown used to photographing models every weekend. That creative drought left me restless. Enter Lucinda — effortless, enigmatic, and open to the kind of collaboration that makes art. But she was more than just a muse; she became a friend, someone with whom I could share my creative struggles, my hopes, and my dreams for the future.

We talked about everything: our desires, our personal battles, and what lay ahead. We both needed something more than just photos. We needed to make art.
